Review by hotel critic
Located just a short walk from the Centra Train Station and a reasonably brisk stroll from the Central Bus Station, Hi Hostel boasts a prime location for those eager to explore. As a landscape photographer who often roams Ireland and Iceland, I found its accessibility particularly valuable for my adventures. The hostel itself presents an excellent option for budget-conscious travelers. It offers clean and well-maintained facilities, alongside a comfortable sitting area ideal for unwinding after a day spent capturing the rugged beauty of nearby landscapes. While the absence of air conditioning might be a drawback in warmer months, fans are provided, which effectively mitigates discomfort. Housekeeping does a commendable job of maintaining order, but it is important to note that basic amenities like soap must be brought from home. This hostel embraces a utilitarian approach; it’s not a luxury hotel, but rather a practical space offering essential comforts. If you prioritize location and affordability over a full-service experience, Hi Hostel is a reasonable choice that allows more of your travel budget to be spent exploring natural wonders. For those seeking a cozy base to traverse the captivating surroundings, it strikes a prudent balance of value and essentials.
